My artwork will be on exhibit from September 15 through October 26th at the Leslie Powell Gallery

Lachalam (Mixed Media and Encaustic Work)
I collect items and objects that seem intriguing, beautiful, and strange. I also salvage paper ephemera and old photographs and cherish the ones in my own family albums. These found items, photos and bits allow me to dream up new narratives by playfully arranging them either on panels with encaustic or collaging to papers with addition of drawings.
Lachalam comes from a Hebrew root word which means to cause to dream and to restore, and it seems to perfectly describe my intention for creating. Letting my imagination play with favorite subjects such as flowers, fields, seas, boats, birds, animals and 'vintage people' on a small scale is a challenge that I enjoy. It will take a discerning eye to catch details such as an entire prairie vista framed in a rusted hinge. I hope that you enjoy finding several seed to star size dreams in these works.
